Trunk Amplifier Setup

Adding 2 tweeters to existing Amplifier?
I'm going to start this out by saying I'm pretty new at this, but I'm good at following instructions and I am decently technical.
I have an already existing 2 x 10" subwoofer trunk system with amplifier (Sony XM-502Z). This isn't an overly elaborate setup, but I wanted to add 2 tweeters to the box. So I installed the 2 tweeters for a total of 4 speakers (2 woofers, 2 tweeters) in my box. I basically hooked the tweeter cable up directly to the woofer cables on the actual speaker (+ to +'s, - to -'s) inside the box. The box has bridged wiring to the amp. When I turn the system on, the woofers still work fine, but I get no sound from the tweeters. Anyone have any idea how I should be hooking this up?
I'm actually adding tweeters as a cheap solution for tailgating music (instead of getting a generator and full-size stereo system, etc).
why are you adding tweeters to a subwoofer amp? you won't be able to hear them while they are in the trunk, and they will blow very fast with that much power. especially if you are feeding them low signals.
as for why they aren't working. you have a wiring problem. or you already blew them.
all you need to do is make sure the wires for the tweeters are connected to the amp. which may mean directly hooking them into the amp with the subwoofer.
